MA 4 Fair Elections was seeded in 2021 by a small group of volunteers who joined Cause of America (CauseOfAmerica.org). Members met bi-weekly to discuss concerns and contemplate actions to address those concerns. For example, some members became more involved in local government by becoming poll watchers or town registrars. Others began studying voter rolls and election results, gathering data from town and city clerks through public records requests.

In 2023, we created The Committee for Massachusetts Voter Identification Ballot Question to support putting a question on the 2024 ballot that would ask whether a voter should be required to show identification when casting a vote. We ultimately did not reach our goal to collect the necessary number of signatures, although we did manage to collect over 40,000 verified signatures on a shoestring budget, thanks to our growing army of engaged and motivated volunteers.

Those volunteers remain energized and have continued to bring referrals to our group. Additional volunteers continue to be referred by Cause of America as well as United Sovereign Americans (unite4freedom.com), an organization of which many in our group are a part.

We are excited about our work to date, and about our ongoing projects. We believe we are making progress toward bringing accountability back to our election system.
